This piece was carved from a quartz rock crystal cluster weighing 48.2 kg or 106 pounds in its raw, unworked form. The designer was inspired by the Egyptian Pharaoh’s crown of two king cobras and Rodin’s The Thinker. The delicate design and masterful carving technique give this work a stunning visual impact. The work subtly displays the force of life. Two king cobras intertwine the thinking skull, their eyes made of high quality rubies, and tongues of precious red coral.
